Day 3 : Highlight of Day 3 — Dec 3rd Summary
  1. Doug Yeum, head of Global Partner Organization, exemplified partners’ leadership, innovation, SaaS providers, global outreach, ISV accelerate program and data-integration ability.
  2. [New Launch!] Powering Amazon EBS to enable exabytes of storage and trillions of IOPS for these workloads to serve varying performance needs and how AWS ensures that the storage is highly available and durable for high application uptimes.
  3. [ New Launch!] Introduction to aqua for Redshift with new hardware-accelerated cache that uses purpose-built analytics processors to deliver up to 10 times better query performance. Personally, I think it is an attempt to square upto Snowflake.
  4. [NEW LAUNCH!] AWS ECS Anywhere — Personally, glad that AWS is now boldly entering the hybrid-cloud with this new capability that enables deployment of Amazon ECS tasks on customer-managed infrastructure.
  5. Finally, old wine in new bottle: Aurora Serverless v2 (auto-scaling capability), IPv6 (more IPs for regulatory performance), AWS RDS (envelop SQL Server Worker loads), EFS (persistent file storage for containers) and AWS Controller for K8S (ACK — for lifecyle of K8S dependencies)
